Product Composition

Proanthocyanidins are a class of polyphenols found in a variety of plants such as blueberry. Chemically, they are oligomeric flavonoids. Many are oligomers of catechin and epicatechin and their gallic acid esters. Proanthocyanidins may protect the heart and cardiovascular system. They may work as antioxidants and block nitrosamines from forming. They may protect healthy cells from their effects. They work with vitamin C to lower the risk of breast cancer. They reduce risk of blood clots. This may lower the risk of a heart attack.

Indications:

⇒ Diabetes
⇒ Cardiovascular diseases
⇒ Chronic venous insufficiency
⇒ Capillary fragility
⇒ Retinopathy
⇒ Encourages wounds to heal
⇒ Supports normal lipid profiles, likely due to the presence of naringin
⇒ Encourages heart health
⇒ Helps alkalize the body
⇒ Improving night vision
⇒ Protecting collagen and elastin in your skin (for anti-aging effects)
⇒ Treating haemorrhoids
⇒ Protection against oxidative rancidity and bacterial pathogens

About Composition:

Proanthocyanidins are chemical compounds. Proanthocyanidins are in a group of compounds called polyphenols. These belong to a subclass called flavonoids. It affect hepatic glucose production via adenosine monophosphate–activated protein kinase and/or insulin-signaling pathways. There is also evidence for a direct role of proanthocyanidins in modulating several pancreatic ß-cell functions: prevention of oxidative stress, enhancement of insulin secretion, and promotion of ß-cell survival. Therefore, greater understanding of the potentially beneficial effects of proanthocyanidins on cell-signaling pathways implicated in glucose homeostasis is needed.
